Meet the Producers ~  Jamee Culbertson and Karin Sorvik 

Jamee Culbertson, Co-Producer, Director, Videographer and Editor for the Award Winning Film: "How it All Began, Origins of Master Mantak Chia's Universal Healing Tao System".

 

Jamee's extensive film industry career spans 20 years working on such documentary films as “USS the Sullivans, A Sailor’s Story“, “Moor Tenors“, and the short film “Claudia’s Crescent Kick”. 

 

Jamee is the Owner and Creative Director of Way of the Arrow Media. She is a freelance videographer producing programs for entrepreneurs around the world. 

 

In addition to her work in the film industry, she's also worked on theatrical productions, most notably as Stage Manager for ‘Jazz, Poetry, Jazz” starring Joanne Woodward and the Darius Brubeck Ensemble.  Jamee is a graduate of the Berklee School of Music. As a singer/songwriter, Jamee's music has been used in video projects for the Healing Arts.

 

Jamee is a Senior Universal Healing Tao Instructor teaching meditation, Chi Kung and Tai Chi.  "Being a Certified Healing Tao Instructor afforded me an intimate perspective in telling this story on film. "  Jamee is a Senior Instructor with the Boston Healing Tao and produced all their course media which can be found at http://www.chikungpractice.comJamee pariticpates in Harvard University Tai Chi Studies along with Boston Healing Tao colleagues Marie Favorito, (starring in the film), and Joe Anzalone.

 

Jamee is a certified teacher of the Alexander Technique.  She trained with Tommy Thompson at the Alexander Technique Center in Cambridge, MA, USA. Jamee is a faculty member of the Alexander Technique Center Training Course at Cambridge, Tommy Thompson; Director and at the Alexander Technique Training Course at the Boston Conservatory of Music Alexander, Debi Adams; Director. Here the trainees explore Alexander Technique principles through the movement as applied to Tai Chi.  She also teaches at the Berklee College of Music. and is internationally certified with Alexander Technique International.  Jamee resides in the Boston area in Massachusetts. USA.

Karin Sorvik, Co-Producer, Director and Storyboard Lead for "How it All Began, Origins of Master Mantak Chia's Universal Healing Tao System".  

 

Karin is a Taoist Minister and instructor with the Healing Tao System. Her first career was in dance, theatre and music, earning her degree in acting from the Escuela Nacional de Arte Dramatico. Most of all she loved the magic/spiritual space that's created during a performance.

 

To further her search she began to look into Eastern methods. She studied Tai chi and I Chuan with Master Tung Kuo Tzao in Argentina and became a Taoist Minister with D.A.R.I. She also won several Tai Chi Chuan competitions in South America. She moved to the US in 2001 to serve the Taoist community and to further her practice. She studied with several Taoist Masters: Ron Diana, B.P. Chang, Dr. Sthephen Chang and Mantak Chia.

 

Karin Sörvik is currently the Director of the Healing Tao Center and Tao Healing Arts.com. She is a practitioner and counselor in Taoist Healing Practices. Practices include: Tao Yin (Taoist Yoga), Nutrition, Herbology, Meditation, Tai Chi, I Chuan, Chi Nei Tsang and Chi Kung Therapy.
